 WHAT IS BIBLICAL EVANGELISM?

“Getting It Straight”

Scripture passages: John 1:35-51, 4:1-42; Matt. 9:9-12, 28:16-20;

                               Acts 8:1-8, 26-40, 16:25-34

In Matthew 28:18-20, the Lord Jesus Christ commissioned His disciples and every other believer. In verse 18, He ___________ the sphere of His authority, in verse 19, He ________ the disciples their lifelong activity or task, and in verse 20 He _______ them and us of the limitless availability of the Trinity.

In this special presentation, I will define evangelism, delineate the components of evangelism, give a digest of the evangelistic message, diagnose the essential ingredients of the evangelistic message, and describe the effectiveness of Body Evangelism.

In order to make this information meaningful, let me encourage you to fill in a few blanks as we move through this together.

III.  THE EVANGELISTIC MESSAGE IN DIGEST

       What is the evangelistic message? The gospel of Christ – Him

        crucified, buried, raised, ascended and seated at the right hand of

         the Father. It is the message of man’s sin, God’s sovereign grace,

        human guilt, divine forgiveness, the new birth and obedient living

        for God’s ________ alone.

 V.  EFFECTIVE BODY EVANGELISM IN DESCRIPTIVE TERMS

       What is Body Evangelism? Body evangelism refers to the context in

        which the gift of evangelism is exercised at the local church level.
