MINISTERING
TOGETHER
A GUIDE FOR
DEVELOPING A MINISTRY BUDGET
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Stewardship was instituted by God.
When God created Adam and Eve (Gen.1:26-28), He made them
stewards over all creation. However, being responsible steward
was left under the control of every human’s will. Therefore,
every person is held accountable as to how he or she exercises
his or her free will.
The
purpose of this working manual is to offer practical help
to the church that desires to “raise” faithful stewards rather
than exerting its energy in money “raising” projects and programs
THE BIBLICAL WAY OF SUPPORTING MINISTRY
A.
Tithes,
Offerings, and proportionate giving (Ex.35:4-5; Mal.3:10;
2 Cor.9:6-7)
B.
Giving is to be joyfully done weekly (Lk.6:38;
Acts 20:35; 1 Cor.16:1-2; 2 Cor.9:7)
MISSION
MINISTRIES
The church makes a commitment
to follow the commandment (Matt. 28:16-20; Acts 1:8) of the
Lord in obedient and become deeply involved in doing and supporting
missions through the stewardship of giving. Our
mission support is seen in the following areas:

PASTORAL
MINISTRIES
Pastoral
ministry and preaching the Word to as many people as possible
is a vital part
of the purpose of our church. Most of the funds recommended
are for those who preach the Word, bring Bible studies and
other pastoral functions. Other recommended expenditures reflect
the concern of our church to minister to the congregation
and the community.

CHRISTIAN
EDUCATION
Our
church is committed to the biblical admonition to make disciples
and equip the saints. This is very costly, but educational
ministries are worth more than they cost us.

MUSIC
MINISTRIES
Music
helps us to worship God. Music in worship involves us in praise, confession and dedication of our lives to the work of
our Lord. Our music ministry requires literature, supplies,
and training resources.

SUPPORTIVE
MINISTRIES
Many things
necessary to strengthen the ongoing work of our church not
readily identified as ministries, but they are important to
our church. They are complemen- tary and supportive of other
ministries.

BUILDING
AND GROUNDS
Having
a place to worship,
study, and fellowship is
important to our church. We want our worship center’s grounds
to reflect the glory of God, the one for whom they were built,
landscaped, and maintained.
